How Elizabeth Beisel is Joining the Fight Against Cancer

“Block Cancer” Raises Money for Cancer Research

LEAD Summit keynote speaker and 3x Olympian Elizabeth Beisel will be embarking on a 20km swim from Pt. Judith to Block Island in Rhode Island on August 30th, 2021 to raise funds to support cancer research and clinical trials for Swim Across America.

Like so many of you, someone I love more than anything is battling a ruthless fight against cancer. In response, I’ve resolved to do what I do best, swim.

After receiving news in late 2020 that a family member was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Elizabeth “felt the overwhelming need to help anyone and everyone battling this dreadful disease” by using her swimming platform to make an impact. Since announcing “Block Cancer” on social media on May 18, the project has raised over $34,000 to date, $12,000 of which was raised on the first day!

This project has meant more to me than anything I’ve ever worked on before. I’m swimming for not just my loved one, but everyone who has ever been touched by cancer.

Elizabeth will be adhering to Marathon Swimmers Federation rules throughout the entirety of her swim and will complete the feat unassisted.
