Are You Ready: A Message from the Lead Team

At the end of a season, it’s important to look back and appreciate how far you’ve come. You think back on the tough days and the great days and how hard you worked to get to where you are. With the countdown to the 2023 Lead Summit in its final days, we want to take the chance to say THANK YOU to our Lead community.

Lead began as an opportunity to provide Leadership, Empowerment, and Athletic Development to young women in swimming. The vision of 3-time Olympian Kara Lynn Joyce, the goal of Lead has always been to build a toolbox of those intangible qualities of an athlete: confidence, leadership, empowerment, and mental and physical health, among others. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to be the fastest or the loudest person to be a leader. It’s a chance to build your confidence and set big goals. And it’s a community of girls and women in sport that share in their special bond as athletes.

To all of our alumni, from the very first Summit in Austin, TX in 2017, to all the young women joining us in Springfield, VA next week, we do what we do for YOU. And we can’t wait to keep this going. See you soon!
