TOP PODCASTS THAT WILL HELP YOU CRUSH YOUR GOALS IN 2021

The Unfit Pod

Hosted by Ithaca College alumni and besties @sammeyers and @alisonchilt, @theunfitpod challenges conventional ideas of health and fitness. This 2020 podcast is fresh, new and relevant during quarantine by taking listeners through their wellness journey in the gym, in the workplace, and in their personal lives. Our founder Kara Lynn Joyce was recently featured on the pod where she gave us major goosebumps with her inspiring story of becoming a CEO (aka us at Lead!).

Our favorite quote from the episode:

“Any woman who exists in the space of sports, whatever realm that is-if you want to be an athlete, if you want to work in media, if you want to be a coach-we need more. We just need more women in sports.”

Be sure to tune into Kara’s episode here! You can access The Unfit Pod on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher.

Side Hustle Pro

Founded by Nicaila Matthews Okome (aka “Chief Side Hustler”) in 2016, @sidehustlepro features black female entrepreneurs who turned their passion projects into successful careers. She offers tips and tricks for building a profitable career in the digital space by teaching listeners actionable strategies to get their businesses off the ground.

We love Episode 221 that discusses how one mom’s journey to developing Black Santa wrapping paper, a product that didn’t exist, turned into a full-time business at Greentop Gifts. Give it a listen and other Side Hustle Pro episodes on Spotify and Stitcher.

Laughter Permitted with Julie Foudy

Started in 2019 by in partnership with ESPN, the Laughter Permitted podcast with @juliefoudy features candid conversations with top female athletes and leaders in the sports industry like @simonebiles, @billiejeanking, and @kerrileewalsh. We’re currently listening to LP’s most recent episode with @missyfranklin88 where she discussed her journey to becoming a professional swimmer.

Our favorite quote from the episode:

“Healing is not a linear process. You don’t wake up one day and decide, ‘Okay, I’m gonna start to get better today. I’m gonna heal’-it’s very up and down, so having grace for yourself on the days where you do take a step or two back and knowing that what’s important is the next day you wake up and try to take another step forward.”

Be sure to tune into Episode 51 of Laughter Permitted ASAP and subscribe to Julie’s podcast on Spotify. Visit www.juliefoudyleadership.com/  to learn more about The Julie Foudy & espnW Sports Leadership Academy.

An interesting quote from this week’s episode discussing COVID Sports Bubbles and Fandom:

“If you have to sit and face, actually look and think about all that has been lost or rearranged or shifted because of this pandemic, and actually feel the weight of it, it’s such a heavy load to carry.”

You can tune into BIAD’s interview this week with Dr. Adia Benton here and subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Simplecast, and TuneIn. Visit www.burnitalldownpod.com/ for more information on the hosts and episodes.

Champion’s Mojo

Hosted by World Record Holders Kelly Palace and Maria Parker, the @championsmojo podcast discusses topics of motivation, mindset, health, and wellness with top swimmers and coaches.
