It’s good business to invest in women’s swimming. 🎤 ⬇️

That’s what 2020 Olympian Natalie Hinds and GOALS Founder/CEO Caroline Fitzgerald were out to prove at the first-ever live podcast recording of The Business Case for Women’s Sports, presented by Nav.It, at the 2021 Lead Summit.

Natalie and Caroline dove deep into Natalie’s comeback journey to make the 2020 Olympic team and win a bronze medal in the 4x100 free relay, as well as the fight for sponsorship dollars and visibility for female athletes. We were thrilled to partner with our friends at Nav.It to bring this important conversation to 150 teen female athletes - the future of women in sport.

Before you hit play, check out three of our favorite lessons from Natalie and Caroline’s conversation:

  • Not everything is instant. Reaching your goals is going to take time and that is OK! If you’re working hard and putting in the time, you will find a way to achieve your goals.

  • Selfish is not a bad word. Learning to be respectfully selfish so that you can prioritize your needs is A GOOD THING! Let’s normalize putting ourselves first.

  • Always come back to facing your fears with courage. If you don’t quite reach a goal the first time, it can be scary to try again. But remember, the most important thing is how you bounce back from failure. Come back with courage and you can accomplish anything.

Thank you to GOALS and Nav.It for supporting our mission of empowering and elevating female athletes.
